Henley and Villawood reveal 2023 Good Friday Appeal Home for charity auction

The 2023 Good Friday Appeal (GFA) Home by Henley and Villawood is complete, with all proceeds from the no-reserve auction going to The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Good Friday Appeal.

More than 100 tradies and suppliers have donated their labour and resources in helping to construct the stunning Electra 35 by Henley Homes - a 7-star Solar All Electric design, on a 512sqm lot on Coridale Boulevard at Villawood Properties’ Coridale community.

The GFA Home will go under the hammer at Lara in a no-reserve auction for The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal in April.

The family home has been appointed with luxury fittings and fixtures and finished with professional landscaping, Rinnai fully electric ducted reverse cycle heating and cooling system and window coverings – everything a buyer needs to move straight in. All the furniture and decorative pieces inside the home, will be included in the auction price.

The RCH GFA Home Auction is one of Victoria’s most loved auction events and one of the biggest contributors to the appeal. Each year, it attracts a massive crowd for a celebratory street party accompanying the auction. As a popular Good Friday fixture, the auction has raised more than $18 million over 30 years.

Villawood Properties’ Executive Director Rory Costelloe says the 2023 GFA House Auction will once again highlight the international-standard care of The Royal Children’s Hospital with a top-line home built by an army of generous and driven community carers.

“The Good Friday Appeal’s annual auction is a major event in the Villawood calendar and one we’re incredibly proud to be part of,” he said. “We look to do something better every year with the auction home. It’s a great challenge and an exciting exercise and we throw a lot of energy into it.

“The 2023 house is on a prime site we’ve picked out at our new Coridale community in Lara, in the amazing Geelong growth corridor, one of the most popular in Australia. It’s close to our amazing Club Coridale, an established town centre, parks and open space and it offers a great lifestyle.

“At Villawood, we’re all about growing strong, healthy communities, exactly the same as The Royal Children’s Hospital is. As families, as parents, we’re concerned for our kids at the best of times. When they’re sick, The Royal Children’s really comes into its own and plays such an important role.

“In 2022, the GFA Home fetched a record $1.082 million for the Royal Children’s Hospital. We’re hoping we can match that in 2023 with another quality offering in a premium master planned community.

“And once again, the same as every year, our Villawood team is inspired by the big-hearted kindness and generosity of all Henley’s volunteer trades and suppliers. We’re hoping all of Victoria will similarly get behind the Good Friday Appeal.”

Antony Blackshaw, CEO, Henley Properties says the 2023 GFA home auction goes from strength to strength and the entire Henley team is looking forward to another successful sale.

“It takes a great team and tight-knit community to build a home for The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and we, at Henley, have that in spades. Every member of the Henley team including volunteer trades and suppliers go out of their way, year after year to support and drive this great initiative. The commitment is unwavering, and we look forward to another successful build and auction.”

“For the 2023 GFA Home, Henley has handpicked the stunning Electra 35 and it is simply a beautiful family home. The winning bidder on auction will be stepping into a home choc-a-bloc with stunning features and fixtures, all with the Henley seal of approval. And knowing that every dollar will go to The Royal Children’s Hospital will undoubtedly bring added smiles to their faces. We know we will!

“The GFA Home Auction is undoubtedly the biggest community event on Henley’s calendar. We all consider it such an important day, as there is a team of people working tremendously hard in the months leading up to the big no reserve auction. The day is simply electric, and we can’t wait for a great result on Good Friday.”

“You know the saying, ‘it takes a village’ and that describes perfectly the team effort behind the build of the GFA home, each and every year. From Henley and Villawood’s corporate team, the volunteer trades and suppliers to the people of Victoria, everyone comes together for that one goal. And that is to raise as much money as possible for The Royal Children’s Hospital. Henley is proud to be part of it.”

“Is it possible to break another GFA Home auction record for 2023? We will all certainly try! Last year, we cracked the $1 million mark, $1,082,000 to be precise and we are hoping this year to be another cracking year for Henley and Villawood.”
